Descendants of CLAUDIUS FICHTER-63
Notes
1.
CLAUDIUS FICHTER-63
CLAUDIUS WAS AN IRONWORKER IN THE PROVINCE OF RHINELAND IN GERMANY
The infomation on this family came from information I recieved from an ad that
I placed in a genealogical publication the"Familienkundlich Nachrichten" in
Germany in early 1988.Information as a result was sent to me from a Mrs Bernice Richard
of 1915 W Grace St Chicago Ill 60613.She stated that she was a descendant
of a Fichter family that came to NJ later than mine and that I should look into
this family name instead of the spelling of Victor. My family written history which
was written by a great aunt of my mothers stated that our David "Victor" had
come from the Elsace province of Germany to NJ.Mrs Richards stated a distant
cousin of her Husbands had sent her my information from the publication in
Germany and stated he had the records of the Fichters from that area and that
he could possibly help. She also gave me the information from St Josephs Church
in Phil. Pa.which listed my ancestors under the name of Fichter. They had the
same dates of birth etc.I had been looking for my ancestors under the surname
of Victor in NJ for over 17 years but was unable to find them until this new information
was sent to me.Mrs Richards gave me the address of the distant cousin in Germany.
Gernot Schlay Dollbergstr. 37 5509 Neuhutten Germany.I recieved from him the
family information of Claudius Fichter and his children etc that he had taken directly
from the Geman records that is included in this history.
Mrs Richards also told me that a Priest at Seton Hall Father Raymond J Kupke
had written a history of the Catholic Church of NJ and had information on my family
of Fichters.I called him by phone and he was quite interested and he would send
me a copy of his book.It is "Rollong Stones" a History of the Catholic Church in the
Diocese of of Paterson NJ.printed by Walsworth Publishing Co.Marceline Missouri.
