The following newspaper clipping from Anna Lila Wheeler Moats' bible gives evidence that John,
Clarence, Frank, and James Dawson Moats are brothers. Gilmore is in Greene County, Pennsylvania:

Body Is Found By Train Crew
	___________

John Moats, 60, of Gilmore
Meets Death Beneath Wheels
On B. and O. Leckrone Branch
	__________

John Moats aged 60 years and
seven days, a well known resident of
Gilmore, was instantly killed about
1:30 o’clock Sunday morning by a B.
and O. freight train on the Leckrone
Branch. near his home. His body,
however, was not found until three
hours later.

Moats is believed to have been
killed by the train as it made a regular
trip over the branch. It was on the
turn trip of the same train at 4:30
that the man’s badly mangled body
was found lying along the tracks.

	Surviving are three brothers,
James D. Moats, Greensboro; Frank
Moats, Haydentown, and Clarence
Moats, Smithfield H. D. 1. The body
has been removed the Clarence
Moats residence where funeral services
will be conducted at 2 o’clock Tuesday
afternoon. Burial will be in Springhill
cemetery.
